My Canyon Grizl AL has had two BB failures mid-ride, both times coming loose and seizing (stranding me). First the stock BB, then a Wheels Mfg replacement.
I noticed the bolt for the external cable guide bracket sticks way into the BB shell and is actually contacting the BB — there’s visible wear. Could this be creating a pivot point that is loosening the BB slowly when they are forced into the sides of the BB shell?
Has anyone else run into this? Is it a known issue or just bad assembly on my bike?

Yeah, that bolt is too long, that’s gotta be your problem. You should cut it or get a shorter one. You should be able to reuse the WheelsMFG, just make sure it’s tightened to spec!
Did you have any feeling of resistance or creaking prior to failure/seizing?
