[Music] Hello and welcome to highlights of stage 19 of the Valta EspΓ±a from Roueda to Guo. All smiles at the start there for Jayvine and Yonas Vingo and a bit of stretching there for Egan Bernal. autographs all round and a thumbs up from that lucky fan Xiao Ma also looking focused ahead of what should be an interesting day one for the sprinters perhaps as they rolled out of Roua it was going to be a headwind start and this was the profile of the day 161.9 km 1500 m of elevation a sprint at 103 km in no king of the mountains but a long drag to the line so it Could be a tricky finale. There’s only one man brave enough to go out solo in front. It was the man from Kaharel, Jacob Ortuba, 27 years of age from the Czech Republic built up a lead of approaching 4 minutes. The Pelaton behind being led by the sprint teams unsurprisingly. Alpas Kerning and Lotto as well as yesterday’s second place finisher in the polka dots look good and our daily wave and a kiss of course from Yodas Vingo. A nice shot there as well with the helicopter. This man Ellie Viviani looking to score a victory in this race. He’s come close on a couple of occas occasions. Disqualified as well, but Vivani putting his team to work. And also the man in the green jersey, Matt Pison looking to add to his tally. And meanwhile up in front, the lonesome Jacob Ortuba was joined by galloping horse. He took the intermediate sprint. He took the 20 points and he also took a 6second time bonus in Salamanca. And interestingly behind, look who was up at the front taking a 4se secondond time bonus. A quick glance behind and incredibly Yonas Vingal escaped from the Pelaton led out by Mattel Jorgensson to take a very valuable 4 seconds. A big big surprise. Uet Emirates will not be particularly happy with that one. Obviously read their road book and exploited an interesting situation. Something I don’t think they would have expected coming into today. to the gap to leader who’s gradually shut down. Needle doing a lot of the riding. There was a fair bit of crosswind heading into the finish making for nervous riding in the pelaton. Jvine trying to keep things nice and steady at the front. There was a quick counterattack. Apparitio and Schum of BH Burgos Burell went clear. There was another little split at the front aided by these crosswinds that was brought back. In fact, it was Jonas Vingo who went clear with a Yasper Philipsson. But again, UAE team Emirates after being caught napping earlier on brought things back together for what was going to be a big sprint. Look at this turn though from Phip Bana. He’s still going. He’s still moving. He’s done his job. He’s now dropped off Turner. He’s on the wheel of Yasper Philipsson. Remember those silver shoes on and they are starting to lead him out inside the final 450 meters. Now it’s Yonas Rickert at the front. They’re looking for three wins from three big sprints for him. Blanket now to do the leading out. Those distance signs get smaller and smaller. Turners in the third wheel and ready to go now off the wheel of Yasper Philipsson who’s in prime position but Mar Person launches in the green large there as well. And now it’s time for Phillips on the left hand side. Almost 4 hours here. Yasper Philipsson’s going. Yasper Phillipsson’s on the front and Y on the right hand side is Pearson, but nobody can do it. Silver shoes, diamond legs. It is Yasper Philipsson who wins the stage. Silver shoes and diamond legs indeed. Yasper Philipsson of Alperson Darnic makes it a hat-tick of wins in this year’s Walter. And just look at where he came from as well. Crashing out of the tour to France, but now back to his very best. Here’s the overhead and just look at the sheer ferocity. The turn of speed of Philipsson lengths clear in the end of Matts Pison. He’ll take that one. A perfect lead out by Reichart and Plankart for yet another win for the fastest man in the world. Confirmation of the result. Yasper Philipsson takes the win ahead of Pison Berman’s turn at Maric Christian Vernon Grul and Labros. It was a really really tough finish line and definitely after uh 11 days not going this deep. It hurts. Did you know it was that hard? Yeah, we knew uh what was going to be like and final 250 m was more flat but yeah before the team did an amazing um yeah pool and amazing timing towards the last kilometer and yeah was just a final kilometer all out. Praise for his teammates there. Last kilometer route and a perfectly timed sprint. Small change on the GC. Yonas Fingio gaining 4 seconds on Xiao Ma. Tom Pickock holding steady in third with Hindley in fourth heading into stage 20. A big smile there for Yonas Fvinger on the podium. Another day in red and I think he’ll definitely take the 4 seconds he gained on Xiao Almeida and Pickock today. So the points classification now and just look at that for a lead. 100 points advantage after second place today for Matt Pison over his fellow countryman Yonas Vingo. So no wonder the man is smiling. Another opportunity for this man in Madrid, but right now he’s enjoying being in green. Let’s have a look ahead then at two stage 20. It is an absolute brute. I think jointly the queen stage of this race from Roto Dave to Leah del Mundo. Just look at this profile. 4,200 m of elevation and the final climb to the line is an absolute brute. There’s the aerial shot. The last 3 and 1 halfks, doubledigit gradients. It’s going to be explosive. GC, that is for sure.

  1. I feel like the lot of sprinters is quite modest (except for Jasper) at this year's Vuelta. Mads is very smart in basically gluing the green jersey on his back despite arguably not being undoubtedly deserving. After all though, it's not his fault that other sprinters seem completely uninterested in it. Might have to do with the many points available on hilly terrain, but this decision instead of mixing up competition basically killed it from the start.

  2. My Name is Gestrüppstruß and i know Lidl trek will be victorios at the vuelta, there is no need to argue against it. I am a highly developed Absorber of cycling and i know who has the say in the peleton

  3. Mads Pedersen's sprint was excellent but yet sterile.
There was no way he could match Philipsen's acceleration under reduced drag.

    What a sprint, btwπŸŽ‰.

    Besides, Jonas is scared.

    Enjoy tomorrow's clash β€πŸŽ‰.
