This is a 89 Giant Escaper I built up with and for a childhood friend (pictured).
Mix of parts bin and new stuff. 9 speed XT, 105 crank, Basil Portland Rack, B&M lighting and a surprisingly cheap dynamo wheel from Decathlon. Tried out these Goodyears as an alternative to the ubiquitous Billy Bonkers.
Also first time installing U brakes, what a fucking horrendous system. The clean seat stays do look nice though.

Horizontal top tubes are just so elegant, even on brightly painted frames, they just look right.

I’ve been considering those Wingfoots as wel. They have a dirt version that is more similar to the billy bonkers thread pattern. These park versions are more like the DTH’s. Looks like good year wants to contend with both.
