Hit an unleveled bridge connection at speed with the rear wheel (could save the front wheel). Tire bottomed out and BOOM metallic noise. Back home removed the tire and noticed slight dent on rim.

Incredibly did not get a snake bite flat. Wheel is now slightly untrue but doesn’t really bother me as I’m using 35mm tires.

Question is, I guess it’s safe to ride (the tire is seating properly). Anything to worry about? Not really planning to replace the rim at the moment, unless there’s some hidden danger I don’t know about.

  1. A piece of some hard material on the outside
    An adjustable wrench
Outward twisting motion with proper amount of force

  2. Looks OK. I wouldnt recommend racing on it, but for daily Its still fine imo. But If you dont true the wheel, it can lead to imbalance and spokes can Break easily, so thats the least U should do

  3. I rode a rim like that for a couple of years when I was a starving student. It’ll be fine. It doesn’t look like a rim brake, which would make stopping a little jerky.
