Discovered last night that my hybrid bike (Fuji Palisades? 2.0) was stolen and I am sad. She was my first nyc bike, but I am of course in the market for a new one. Note: I am a 5’4” woman who usually does not ride it further than 1 or 2 miles at a time. I do not have somewhere to store it indoors so it will live locked outside (i live in Greenpoint, Brooklyn.) I also do not want dropped bars and will opt for either straight or slightly curved. My previous bike was a 7 speed but I know commuters often opt for single. Can somebody provide any advice or recs on the listings attached? Would also accept any area listing link recommendations if you felt so inclined. I have not negotiating pricing on any of these bikes yet. Thank you in advance!

  1. The vintage Trek is too expensive and looks like it’s too big. The Cannondale looks like it’s the right amount of beat-up looking to stay under the radar, but a medium is potentially too big and the tires are mismatched, which is a bit of a yellow flag for me. I’d be going through that one carefully for condition.

Of these three, the Trek 7.1 in the middle looks like it’s in the best shape and the right size.
