If you only ride one gravel cycling route in Norway, make it Rallarvegen.
This is the ride that every gravel cyclist, road cyclist, and bikepacker dreams of. I went with a complete @meridanordic setup❤️
It starts with a train — complete with a bike carriage — that drops you onto Europe’s highest mountain plateau. From there, the Rallarvegen cycling route takes you past waterfalls, mountain lakes, and glacier views that feel unreal.
You can ride it light and fast like a road bike adventure, or load up your gravel bike for a bikepacking trip through Norway’s mountains. Stop at cabins for waffles and coffee… or fuel yourself purely on snacks like I did.
The ride finishes with a 1,200m descent into Flåm valley — one of the most famous cycling finishes in Norway. And if you’re still chasing adrenaline, you can even take a 1,400m zipline with your bike.
Whether you’re into gravel cycling, road biking, or bikepacking in Norway, this is the once-in-a-lifetime route you can’t skip.

This is the bike trip you have to do at least once in your life. It starts with a train, the dedicated bike carriage that drops you onto Europe’s highest mountain plateau. From there, it’s waterfalls, mountain lakes, and a glacia bigger than your Swedish mom. You can stop at cabins for waffles and coffee, or you could, like me, go for the full bike packing experience because sometimes it’s not all about the speed. It ends with a 1,200 meter descent into Flum Valley. Oh, and that that’s a 1400 m zip line for you and your bike. This is Kala Vegan, the once ina-lifetime
