[Music] Welcome then to highlights of stage 17 of the VA Espรฑa. Smiles all around from yesterday’s winner, Egon Banal. Tom Pigcock dressed up in rain clothes because the rain was falling. It was a dull start, but it was going to be a sparkling stage. That’s for sure. Sunny Autographs at the start. our race leader Yonas Vingo as a pelaton rolled out for a stage distancing 143.2ks, 3,300 m of elevation and a real sting in the tail because it was the climb of the Alto DL Moraddio that was going to be taken on a rolling parkour. As you can see, there was a very fast start indeed. 50k an hour for the first hour of this stage and eventually 12 riders went clear including Brandon Rivera of Inos Mattis Mikl of EF. Antonio Tibbury was also there but meanwhile the Pelaton being led by team Vizma Lisa Bike and the break never got more than 2 minutes. Such was the pressure being applied at the front though there were several splits. It all did come back together but it was going to be a hard day in the Pelaton. Best placed rider in the move was Harold Tiada of Aana just over 11 minutes down and the first climb on the menu was the Paso Dilas Traasas. One ride in a little bit of difficulty was the green jersey wearer Mads Pedison. He was to finish but the spoils on the first climb of the day went to Joel Nicolau taking maximum mountains points over the third cadorie climb leading the riders over the top with the lead at this point 1 minute and 40 seconds and still the pressure was being applied by Bismaris bike with the absence of Victor Camponauts. It was Funbal and Kellerman doing the chasing and again our daily smile and kiss from Yonas Fingo was being looked after very well by his teammates. onto the intermediate sprint with 43.2ks to go. That went to Luca Van Boven of Inamashe just ahead of Tim Rosen of Picnic Post NL. Meanwhile, Egan Banal was having a pretty gentle day in the Pelaton. It was anything but gentle on the front of the Pelaton. A big do of the cap to Fonbal and Kellerman who amazingly rode for the entire day keeping the brake at bay. And as we approached the lower slopes of the final climb to the line, several riders decided to pull the pin. But from the leading group, it was Antonio Terry, our barring victorious, who went clear and he was soon joined by Harold Tiada of Estana. And the gap at this point was just over 1 minute and 20 seconds. It was in fact Red Bull Bora Hansrower who finally swept up the remnants of the breakaway Nicodens doing a big pull on the front and then it was onto the slopes of the fearsome climb to the line of the Alto the El Morado 8.8ks at just under 10% including multiple sections with double digits. De Visma Lisa did the pulling on the early part of the stage but ultimately UI Timmer Xiao Almeida was left isolated. The last man standing for them was Felix Grushartner. Eventually we had six riders at the front of the race and one of the most animated of those was Jai Hindley Tom Pigcock there as well. Hindley putting numerous attacks seeing Xiao Almeida distance on a couple of occasions but the Portuguese rider winched himself back into contention. So the front group Almaida Vingio Hindi Pelisari Pitcock and also young Matthew Rkitellio of IPT through the scorch barren almost alien landscape the race went and there were a few words between Xiao Almeida and Yonas Fingigo. Then with 3.5 kilometers to go after a couple of attacks, Julio Pelazari, the 21-year-old Italian respplendant in white, he went clear with a big acceleration and meanwhile behind the chase was on from Matthew Ricatello. It’s going to be their first stage win of this with Espรฑa and they are still in it. A podium place may be in sight. For now though, it’s a crowning moment of a young career. A new Grand Tour stage winning star is born. His name is Julia Peladari. A worst win from a world class field. And look at Tom Pitcock go. Pitcock going for bonus seconds. A reminder. Third place. And look how well he’s defending it. No bonus seconds crucially for Vigor or Almeida. So an absolutely superb so far a career definfining ride by young Julio Pelisari in the white jersey. In the process he moved himself up one place on the general classification. This is a young man who already this year finished in sixth place overall in the Juridalia. What a talent it is. His first world tour win and his first win at this level. And look at what it means to him. Delight all round. So Pelazardi takes the stage ahead of Tom Pickock, Ji Hinley in third. Then we have Bingo, Almeida, Ricatello, Gold, Train, Cous, and Matteo Jorgensson rounding out the top 10. So delight all round for the man from Red Bull, Bora Hansra. What a moment and what a career that lays ahead for this man. So much potential already being fulfilled. So couple of changes on the GC. Vingo extending his lead from Jal Med. He now has 50 seconds advantage. Pigcock there in third ahead of Hindley Pelisari who moves above goal. Ricochetello Cous and Torson Theren still in the top 10. So another day in the red jersey for Yonas Fingo who certainly put under pressure today but importantly crucially has still got that lead heading in to this stage 18. It is the only individual time trial of this edition of the Va Espa. It is pretty pan flat only 140 m of elevation gain and the total distance 27.2 2Ks. This should definitely see a potential shakeup in the general classification. But importantly, can Yonas Vinger hold on to red?

Trรฆen surfing around 10th GC spot is phenomenal. I think he unlocked new climbing skills after having the red jersey. Unlocked a few new basements of pain too perhaps
