I adjusted my front derailleur out of the box and never had a dropped chain with sram force. That being said, I did install a k edge chain catcher just to feel safer.

As much as I endorse Shimano for superior front shifting, I still run a chain catcher on all of my bikes. 15 grams worth of insurance.

Rival shouldn’t ship without it!!! But had Force and while it was always perfectly setup it still dropped the chain regularly; usually when shifting on climbs. I got new bike with new Ultegra Di2 and can shift even while under full power and never dropped chain once and I shift without worry… however, the PTSD I got riding SRAM meant I still bought a chain catcher.π…and I wrapped bottom bracket and right chainstay with 3M helicopter tape. I feel like I’m wearing a belt and suspenders, but my first drop on my SRAM chewed up a good chunk of carbon fiberππ°
