Edit: Also, they were raffled for charity. Something feels kinda shitty about then trying to flog it on eBay for 12k.

Yeah, this is ridiculous. There was a one off 24k gold plated Brompton with an 🎱 stick shift and the Nickel plated, lacquered CHPT3 which was also just 1 in existence and they fetched similar amounts.

The only time it really makes economic sense to buy a Brompton is if you plan to go car free or dispose of one of your cars in your household and have it supplanted by a Brompton.
A Brompton purchase otherwise amounts to lighting your money on fire
