now I want to let you know some of you got a little upset with me when I told you that you need to start walking before you come to Europe I’m going to give you an example my mom and I have been traveling around France for the last 10 days we have averaged 15,000 steps a day which is about 7 miles a day so if you’re not used to walking that much you need to get yourself prepared for that even if it’s just walking around your town walking around your neighborhood every little bit makes a difference so get out there get ready to walk because you’re going to walk whether you got your stroller with your kids or you’re just enjoying the beautiful architecture you’re going to need that so get woning okay

  1. I work in London and I can do 10,000 just commuting to work. I have no idea how I could survive in American suburbia where I had to drive everywhere. My weight would explode!

  2. I had a pair of walking shoes that between 2016 and 2023 has 1,000 or so miles put on the just walking. I replaced them because they were cracking and coming apart. They have beento Ireland, Scotland, Italy, Greece, Switzerland the Provence region, the French Riviera, and the Yucatan.

  3. Yep, in my case, as one example, when I was in Japan, for the first time last year in Tokyo, crap ton of walking to get to the places we wanted to go to as well as the weather being very very hot!🥵🥵🥵 and been jetlagged from a 13 hour flight!

  4. Even if you're taking a trip to Disney world people should be walking. Most vacations require walking.
I live in Las Vegas and people are surprised coming on vacation here that they have to walk to places 😅

  5. For Americans: You will need to take the public transport system when you are traveling in Europe if you don’t want to break the bank as the costs of taxis and Ubers can really add up to a huge amount

  6. We walked from Trastevere (Rome) to our hotel. Ten miles. Towns in Portugal have steep hills. And you think you’re in shape. It’s hard.

  7. So true! Visited my family in London and dragged to find a hidden lunch spot I found. My aunt said “I’ve never walked so much in London and I live here” ❤😂

  8. I walked ten thousand steps every day for one week before going to europe last year….. I'm thirty five years old and I still got shin splints after the second week.

  9. Walking is normal in a city built for people and not cars. The U.S. long ago prioritized automobiles, but thankfully that is changing, and quickly.

  10. You will explore European cities better by walking. You absorb culture, discover food and meet people. I guess in America there really is no option but to drive since most cities are designed that way and every establishment has its own designated parking.

  11. This is exactly why you need to avoid summer in Southern Europe. Even in September, in Seville, it was pushing 100. Go in April/May.

  12. Im from an American subarb where walking more than 10k steps a day isnt a thing. I just did a tour of europe fron U.K to France to Vienna, Switzerland, etc. I am walking all day every day. No car rental and where there is no public transport we walk. My feet hurt each night and this guy is correct. Those wjo dont walk everyday should know that walking europe is a lot more than normal. Especially in the Swiss alps ans stuff 😅
