I've been looking for a road bike and stumbled across this offer for a Cannondale CAAD 10 105 for $600. I noticed that the frame has a little dent/scratch, would that make it unsafe to ride?
Pass. Dents are a recipe for catastrophic failure at some point.

If it was 150 yeah I’d buy it and just thrash it. For 600 hell no. CAAD are known to be kinda delicate for alloy frames.

Not for 600

A CAAD isn’t even broken in until you have a dent on the top tube. Very thin (light) aluminum, and they dent easily. Sometimes just by the bike falling over and the handlebars swinging into the frame.
So yeah, the chips/dents are inconsequential, but $600 would be the price for a pristine example, fully “bike shop restored” with at least new chain, cables & housing & high quality tires. As it sits, I’d say $3-400 is fair (leaning closer to 3)
