[Music] Welcome to highlights of stage 16 of the Valta Espña from Poo to Moscastro devier 167.9 ks and everybody looking pretty rested after the rest day. Jvine waving to the crowd. Almeida looking relaxed as is our red jersey wearer. Yonasfingo with his teammates smiles all around in the neutral zone. Julio Pelisari looking spritly for Red Bull Borans. So let’s have a look at what’s on the menu today. A hilly parkour certainly not mountainous but still 3,500 m of elevation approximately. And there is the profile. All of the climbing densely packed towards the back end including the hilltop finish at Castro de Eer. It was to be a very fast start and eventually a breakaway was to go clear. 50k an hour start. 17 riders going clear including Solia, Sepeda, Lander, Bernal, Quinn, Alonso, Jungles of Van Seven, Niko Denz and Andrea Bajioli. So big move that soon opened up a very big gap indeed. Kevin Varco also there. Now the first king of the mountains of the day. Well, that was just taken by Nico Dens. Yvingo meanwhile giving us his customary wave and kiss to the crowd. So a good day so far for the Dane. The gap went up to around 4 and a half minutes with 71 km to go. Team Vizmissa bike doing the chasing. Then on to one of the hardest climbs of the day, the Alto de Groa. It was Mikander setting the pace and Egan Banal, the Colombian road champion. One of two riders from the Inos Grenaders in the break making sure he was fueled up for what was going to be a hard finale. Coming towards the top of this climb, it was Mik Lander who accelerated clear taking the Colombian champion with him. Meanwhile, the chase was still being led by team Vizma Lisa Bike and five riders went clear over the top Denlander Banal Braz Alfonso and Briulong of Group FDR. Meanwhile, Mads Pison through the rain was keeping his powder dry for another day after that stage win just before the rest day of course. So, still the five riders out in front were pressing home their advantage. Engabanal will willing and eager. A little group were trying to get across though. Finley Pickering of Bahrain Victorious. The young British 22-year-old riding his debut Grand Tour went clear with Mark Solo, but they could not quite get across the gap as the gradients really started to rear their head. This was the Alto Delrad doubledigit gradients. Nico Dens just about maintaining forward motion as we hit nearly 20% and meanwhile it was Bahin victorious doing the chasing because Torson Trienne was possibly losing his place on the general classification top 10. Meanwhile, Mark Cer, after trying to get across the gap, rested up and was to drop back to look after Joah Almeida, his team leader. And the pressure that had been applied on the front, fractured the leading group, and there was about 12 or 15 riders left only. And the rider that did miss out, the big one was Felix Gaul. There was a bike change for our race leader, the Yonas Vingo, jumping on to the bike of teammate Ben Tullet. But thankfully for the Dane, he was soon back in the mix at the head of the race. Unfortunately, there was a puncture for Braz Alfonso. He was in the front at this point. Bad luck for the Frenchman Tom Pickock also forcing things on the descent of this climb. Now, due to protest over the situation in Palestine near the finish, the decision was taken by race organizers to finish the stage at the 8 km to go point where the stage win and the timings would be taken. And Bernal is ready to go around him. Lander’s there leading it out. It’s Bernnal who does get around him. Lander is there. Bernnal up here. Bernnal to the line and it is there. But can Lander come back on him? I don’t think he can. And what a moment for Egon Bernal. A grand tour stage winner yet again. A Bernal then taking his first world tour win since 2021. Meanwhile, the small clutch of riders that formed the main pelaton rolled home and a pragmatic approach there from Yonasfingo and Tom Pigcock as the demonstration continued near to the finish line. So confirmation of the win for Egan Banal of the Inos Grreners taking the win ahead of Miklander Brian in third. Nicoden’s in fourth. Then Brazalono Youngs Mark Pickering Quinn that’s your top 10. So difficult day for the riders. The main theme of course was them being kept safe by the organizers. No big change on the general classification. Yas Bingo still in red ahead of Almeida. Pick Hinley Pelazari leaping above Gaul and Lasserf dropping down one and Torston train moving in to ninth place. So a difficult day in the legs a shortened finish on to stage 17 and this is what lays ahead. It is in fact our first mountaintop finish of the final week of this Walter 143.2ks ending at the Alto DL Moridero. There’s the profile. 3,300 m of elevation. Sure to be some action on the general classification up that very difficult climb. 8.8Ks at 9.7%.

Protestor are a bunch of regards
"Situation in Palestine" What a double standard! EVERY DAMN DAY children are starving due to fighting in Sudan, Yemen, etc., but since it doesn't involve Israel, YOU NEVER HEAR ABOUT IT. Maybe we should stop ALL SPORTING EVENTS, until we have worldwide moral clarity on every situation?
Don’t even show those pieces of crap protestors.
DANGEROUS PROTESTERS The "peaceful protesters" RAN A BANNER ACROSS THE ROAD in front of riders climbing a 15% hill in the race.
I'm sure they would have done worse at the 60km/hr Sprint Finishes had they been given the chance.
They've caused THREE Rider Injuries so far, including the hiding guy with the flag who tried to charge the group but fell on his face in the ditch (lol), but still caused a crash.
I love the vuelta and its difficult to see it be disrupted but I think these peaceful protest are so important. The whole point is to disrupt daily activities so people will pay attention to the g&nocide.
There should be protests at every sporting event, then maybe the world would actually decide to take action towards stopping the G&nocide
There's a reason no arab countries will take them…
👏👏 Well done stupid protests for ruining another stage. Clearly they are having no effect on the war so why do they keep ruining stages. Its ridiculous! 🇮🇱🇮🇱🇮🇱🇮🇱🇮🇱🇮🇱🇮🇱🇮🇱🇮🇱🇮🇱
Bernard Hinault would know how to deal with these protestors
I am so glad to see Bernal and Landa fighting for a stage❤.
I am pretty sure 2026 is going to be a great season for both of them.
May the odds be ever in ur favour, Champs❤
The free plasticine freaks are so boring. I liked them better when they were Trans crazy. Maybe they should be lobbying the embassies of countries that surround Garza but couldn't give a shit about the so called genocide. Maybe they understand more about these islamists than the gullible white idiots in western nations.
Pickering? Who are you then? Ronnie Pickering!❤❤❤
F*** your desert rat flags! You brainwashed bastards.
I moved to Vigo this year and was excited for my first grand tour stage. Bastards. Very disappointed waiting in the rain for an hour about 1km from the finish. Most people there looked like they had taken a day off and come from Portugal.
I sure hope these idiots don‘t ruin tomorrows mountain finish
4:23 look at all these terror lovers. What about releasing the hostages, hu? Give me a break, western hypocrites. armchair warriors.
One lesson I take from today is not to go to the final climb next time but the climb before
How to pronounce 'Vingegaard'? There's no way 'Vingo' is correct
Whether Israelis riding under their national flag should be allowed is questionable (look what is happening to Russia). Here, however, we have a team with not one Israeli, voluntarily advertising the genocidal Zionist state, and tacitly receiving the support of the organizers. It is only natural that in a civilized society not everyone will find this acceptable.
The IPT sponsorship should have been kicked to the curb years ago. Sefish of the team management to keep them in the race and in pro cycling when the Israeli representation puts the saftety of the peleton in danger.
These protesters are completely contraproductive – this is why I'm happy.
How thick can so many people be to wave that flag? And worse still, how can Spanish police not be able to control a bunch of old aged fannies?
What a gay sport. I COULD BEAT ALL THESE EUROWEENIES
As if the Palestinian protesting starvation in Gaza are going to do anything further to bring further negatives upon the starved! ..the poor old peloton.
Cowards, should try to block Serbian national team basketball game
Pro Palestinians are the worst people on earth! These are whining, pathetic halfwits and they are a reflection on how stupid people are today.
Thank you to the protesters ❤. Genocide is bigger than a bike race.
Que pa so Spaniards, Muslims are ruling now?! Don't they, and Spaniards got to listen occupiers!
I'm done with this race….
The photographer at 8.3 km. ( 3min 55)what an arse. Why do the organisers allow this ?
Kim Kardashian?
get rid of these jew hating neanderthals and finish a race….gets some balls spain
Ban Israel immediately!!!!
No matter what, I’m glad for Egan winning a stage after all these years. What a champion!!
Wussboy protestors
Stop bending "Sports" into politics… giving in -is ridiculous and usless… what did they gain?🤔
Who stood up for the 1,500 peaceful music fans(murdered-in-cold-blood?), or the hostages they took(and wouldn't give back in any peace talks?)….
Not interested in "Sports" becoming pathetic politics =not watching anymore…. cya🤮
I never imagined that the Spanish were so weak. Their national bike race hijacked a few people waving flags. Time to get the brown-shirts mobilized and start cracking some heads. No wonder North America had to come and save Europe in the 40's. Such a timid group of people handing over their country like that.
This protest pro Palestine actually works the other way. People watching start entertainment starting to hate this people including me. Police should do something with them immediately.
Pathetic that the organisers cannot stop such disruptions, ruins the race
TNT, don't show or give any coverage to these idiot Pro Hamas supporters.
What do they even gain by disrupting a sport event? Go protest in somewhere significant 😂
So done with this race. Terrorist supporters the lot of them. What the hell are the Police doing. Complete non event
These protests for me are just wrong. It's putting more innocent lives at risk. These guys are just doing there job and we've seen the protestors now causing accidents, yesterday one ran out from hiding at the cyclists! I just pray we don't see a repeat of that tomorrow and have someone fall off the mountain as a result cause even if it's an IPT rider, that's a completely innocent life added to the mess. That's not a protest. Make your point at the side of the road, allowing the sport to continue, we've all seen them at every location of every stage, let's keep it that way and not cause stuff like this and risk the riders who are 100% innocent, every one of them.
Extremists causing chaos again… Putting riders in danger during a race is not a protest, it’s pathetic. Got it, ‘dear’ extremists?
Nice tow for Bernal there.
Tour of Palestine, it seems..
So the country that arrested people during Covid lockdowns, can’t keep a finish line clear? Now I’m fully against the lockdowns, but they are going to do it again day after day except the summit finishes unless to arrest someone if they won’t stay on the sidelines.
Pathetic.
Man Shimano neutral team is quite busy this vuelta.
People don't even realize that Israel preimer tech isn't even affiliated with the government of Israel, the guy who founded the team just happened to be from Israel, idiots
Lovely to see Egan Bernal back to winning ways again! Who would have tought he got the chance to ride a bike again after his nearly fatal accident..
