What an incredible day! The Men’s Tour of Britain visited Central Bedfordshire on 5 September 2025, bringing world-class cycling and an electric atmosphere to our towns and villages.
Hear from Cllr Adam Zerny, Leader of Central Bedfordshire Council, as we wrap up the action and celebrate how the event showcased our area at its very best. From the excitement on the roadside to the community spirit throughout, it’s been a day to remember.
A huge thank you to all the volunteers, partners and residents who made it so special
Whether you’re a lifelong rider or just discovering your passion for cycling, we hope today’s event has inspired the cycling hero in you!
I think it’s been a fantastic day for everyoneÂ
today. Been so many people out, not just here in Amptill, but all the way around the route. JustÂ
watching the coverage this morning was a really positive event. So many people there, school,Â
children, families all the way along the route, lining every part of it. And it’s brought so muchÂ
to our communities today. All the way along the route today, we’ve witnessed so many peopleÂ
watching the event, so many smiles and faces. And I think in years to come, we’ll see manyÂ
people inspired by what they’ve seen today to take part in sport. And perhaps, who knows, theÂ
future cycling champion of the UK might just been sitting outside of a school today watchingÂ
the event. Today’s been a fantastic opportunity to showcase what Central Bedfordshire canÂ
bring. And all the way along the route, all the way along the TV coverage today,Â
we’ve seen beautiful villages, communities that have really come together to follow theÂ
event and a great area to to live in.
