essentially nothing has been solved even until today people still hate each other there is obvious fighting in my comments it is heartbreaking to hear these stories and there are a lot of more educational videos on it did feel that it was my place to make a video about it since I was in the country I don’t think it’s okay to travel to a region and not talk about things that have happened in the past especially when they still impact people today but I’m not the voice of authority on this I do my best to explain situations originally I tried to do it from a non-biased perspective obviously that doesn’t work in situations that include ethnic cleansing and a lot of horrible war crimes I urge you to look up more about this to learn about everything that has happened I thank you Kosovo for a beautiful visit

  1. I think that the main reason for Kosovo being such a big deal for Serbs is religion and culture. Kosovo used to be the seat of the serbian orthodox church in medieval times before being conquered by the Ottomans. A lot of monasteries, some of them unesco world heritage, were built there during that time. Serbs are still very religious, Kosovo is viewed as a holy place for some of them. Albanians are very religious as well and the two different religions clash. There is also a lot of islamic architecture in Kosovo because of the long Ottoman rule. For me it only makes sense for Kosovo to be completely autonomous because it’s such a mix of different cultures and religions that you can’t categorise it as only either Serbian or Albanian. But Serbs, who view it as a part of their culture that was unlawfully occupied by the Ottomans who massacred them disagree as well as Albanians who have lived there for generations and who make up 90% of the population. It’s really a complex and emotional conflict.

  2. Ur very neutral girl don’t let the negative comments get to you- it’s important to have non biased reporting from a citizens perspective. Political statements and media don’t mean much to me anymore

  3. I wish i could travel like you. Im disabled from a handful of chronic conditions, and they flare up with travel so ive only made it out of the US&Canada a handful of times💔 It must be so amazing to see so much of the world❤

  4. I’m friends with a refugee who had to flee Kosovo as a child because his family was ethnically Serbian and were Christian. Just another example of the horrible discrimination Christians face around the globe.
