[Music] riding an electric scooter can be a quick and easy way to get around the city especially a city as small as vilnius occasionally renting a scooter is quite affordable and can be even more convenient than owning one today we’ll quickly go over the basics of how to rent a bolt scooter and then cover some helpful advice so let’s get started so the first few things you’ll need to do are identical to getting the bolt app for the company’s taxi service they use the same app so this is quite convenient again this requires a smartphone and a sim card with data for both scooters you do need to have a bank card registered since there’s no way to pay with cash once you have the app you can switch between taxis and scooters with the press of one button switching to scooters you’ll be able to see all available scooters in the area around you including their battery status each scooter will have a unique serial number and you’ll use this to make sure you’re booking the right scooter this is definitely needed when dozens of them are parked all together if there are lots of scooters parked in one place and you don’t want to check each serial number you can tap on the ring feature to have your intended scooter flash a light and make a noise once you’ve found your scooter scan its qr code to book it and begin your trip scooters have built-in stands that collapse when you roll forward and to put them back step down on the stand and rock the scooter backwards until it’s propped up at the time of making this video the rate to use these scooters is 12 cents per minute at quieter times of the year i do believe bolt offers a pass for around 10 euros there are a few things you need to know about riding these things number one the left handlebar has a bell use this to communicate to pedestrians and other people that you’re sharing the road with on the right side are both the brakes and acceleration to accelerate just push down on the tab with your thumb the further down you push the faster it goes note that you first need to be rolling and moving a little bit in order for the accelerator to work so push off with your feet to get moving your speed is displayed in the center stopping is done by squeezing the handle to activate the brake don’t forget to put your foot down if you’re stopping at slow speed there are lots of great places to use these things but city centers at busy times of the day are probably not one of these places in vilnius vincus park and along the river are two of the best spots to take a joyride going through the old town can be quite bumpy and potentially more dangerous always be careful around puddles because they can be deeper than they look and always look out for buttholes curbs and other steep drops when you’re finished with your scooter trip find a good place to park it within the zone that you’re allowed to park open up the app select finish ride and then you’ll be asked to take a photo of your scooter do this and then you’ll be finished both scooters are ideal for the occasional ride through the city since electric scooters can cost at least a few hundred euros to own rentals can really be worth it especially when you think about not having to worry about maintenance and repair and the fact that you may not be able to ride these things during the few months of lithuanian winter it’s also nice to be able to just park them and have the flexibility of taking a bus or taxi if your plans change you don’t necessarily have to worry about security and finding a safe place when you head into a restaurant but i would love to hear from you and your experience with these scooters do you like them do you hate them let me know by leaving a comment thanks for watching and i’ll see you next time [Music] you

I love using the Bolt Scooters! Last year in the summer at Kaunas it was 5cent /min but now it’s 10ct + . They are very good value in the summer when the prices are reduced as there are more tourists in the summer in Lithuania 😀
That's very useful information. I haven't used them yet but it might be an option today
Hello, i remember that i could use it 24 hours for 8e or 10, is it available for now?
iit ask me 2€ at the start of ride
i connected my sim card, but it still says i have 0 bolt balance, and when i want to book a ride, it says its an invalid method of payment, its been very annoying
in Klaipeda now is 20ct per minute ((((
Today i just found one of these scooters unlocked in the middle of the street and i just tryied to ride it and than owner just came up to me
You can ride them for free if you dont move them jump on them suddenly and they unlock but you dont have electricity and the alarm is on but the brakes are off just have to be quick and can use this hack to go downhill quickly its convenient just park properly dont be an ass
23c per minute in malta now 😢
I can not find the scooter button. Where is it? I have the latest app version.
Great, helpful video! Succinct, thorough, and well produced. I needed the info in Poland, and it is identical.
Thank you, I am preparing to try it now, in Spain though;)
and when you finish the ride does it show drop off or smth ??
am 13 can i drive one?
These things should:
1. Have and age limit to use them
2. User must have valid licence to use them
3. When used, they could only be parked only in specific areas
In sweden you can get a day pass for £3 they are brilliant
