Hi all! Been following the shred academy tutorials after recently learning I shouldn’t be “standing up to the jump” (thanks loam ranger).
Always felt squirrely off jumps so stick to small to medium tables because of that. I typically get bucked or kicked off to the side on steep lips and I think I see why. Is my timing off here? My legs extend early then compress off the very end of the lip. (Lower whoops trail btw)

Your legs are fully extended at 1 second. They shouldn’t be until second two. Time your leg extension with the edge of the lip. Envision your back wheel as an extension of your legs.

See here, your legs should still be bent and in attack position here beginning your compression. You shouldn’t look like you do until you are where my arrow is pointing.
You look like a flying Jehova’s witness.
As the others said, your timing is a bit off. I would recommend dialing the speed way back for a bit. Go so slowly that you aren’t even tempted to try to clear the jump. You should only be getting a few inches of air. Now try and drag out your press so that you are getting full extension right as your rear wheel reaches the lip. Keep filming yourself and check the footage after each attempt.
When you have the timing down, feel in control, and can consistently land on top of the jump with both wheels at the same time, slowly increase your speed until you are clearing the jump again. It shouldn’t take long to go through the whole process, and it’s a lot safer to experiment when you aren’t going quite so fast.
