Hey all, I've got these zero attack team carbon drop bars on my bike (pretty sure they're oem).

I feel like they're a bit too flexible for me when riding, but just wanted to check if this is a normal amount, and they're just more tuned for shock absorption rather than stiffness, or if there's actually something wrong with these and I should get different ones asap.

Is this amount of flex normal in carbon drop bars?

  1. That’s a lot of flex. Regardless of material, I wouldn’t want to ride bars that twist that easily.

Are you sure those bars are carbon? They look more like aluminum. I’ve never seen carbon bars that are fully painted like that.

  2. How old are they? I tried to search this bars and only found one post mentioning it from 2016

Piling on to say you shouldn’t use those. It seems like an accident waiting to happen or one that already has occurred. I had a mtb bar snap on a slow ride and it was awful – I couldn’t imagine that at a typical road ride speed.

  4. I’ve had four sets of carbon bars and they don’t flex at all.

I’d be very worried about a sudden failure and wouldn’t ride those in a million years.

  5. I don’t know those bars to give a guaranteed answer but carbon can be incredibly stiff or very pliable depending on how its laid up and the type of weave. That said if it was me I would be checking back to get the answer before I used them.
