I was at Goodwill today and I saw a real cool Roadmaster mountain bike from the 90s. I’m not 100% sure if this is from the early or mid 90s, but it is made in USA. From my understanding and the later part of the 90s these bikes were produced in Taiwan. I don’t remember where these bikes are sold maybe Walmart or quite possibly Sears. The bike itself looks to have been stored in a garage for its entire life and only has a very minute amount of rust. I’m in Houston, so humidity is insane so the little rest of this bike does has is more than likely from just being in the human environment in the garage rather than being outside. It has its charm for a grocery getter and I really like the blue paint, it matches my truck. I’m quite pleased that it has a Shimano derailer, not sure about the brakes though. I may have overpaid at $45 but I think this bike will be a nice little beater although it IS a boat anchor!! This thing is heavy!! 😂😂😂😂

  1. The frame was 100% not built in the US. The bike may have been assembled here but that’s assembly line Asia manufacturing at its finest frame wise.

I got a Roadmaster in 5th grade, probably about 1996-6. I think my parents got it at Costco. I had no idea how to ride it at the time. Thanks for sharing these pictures.
