A day in the life of motorhome living in Northern Ireland! 🚐✨
We kick things off in Derry, dealing with an e-bike puncture at Springtown Industrial Estate, before heading over to Yocks for the repair. From there, it’s off to tackle a leaky skylight roof (spoiler: more tape is involved) and then down the coast to Benone Beach for a quiet overnight park-up.
Benone Beach is a popular motorhome stop – safe, peaceful, and right by the ocean. But as always with beach camping, tides can sneak up depending on the moon cycle. We share our go-to spot near the concrete path to keep things risk-free.
It’s not all bad news though – thanks to Starlink, we’ve now got signal where we never used to, which makes remote working life much easier.

[Applause] Hello people of the internet. Today I am getting a puncture repaired. The inner tubes just shot. So I’m in an industrial estate in Derry. I went to Halfords. They said they don’t touch ebikes, which is just weird. And so I’m now in Springtown Industrial Estate at a place called Ys, and they do e- scooters and ebikes, and they also do repairs. I’m still here because some inconsiderate lady in a white Mercedes has just blocked the way in and out, and I can’t get out. So, I’m going to Oh, she’s reversing. I’ll come back to you and let you know what I’m up to. Busy day, busy man today. Managed, let’s get the seat belt on. I managed to get out of the industrial estate after that woman had moved her white Mercedes. And now I am off to go pick the bike up. It’s been a couple of hours and this guy, all he does is electric bikes and electric scooters. And these are like high-end ones, so they look pretty mint. Well, on my budget. Anyway, he’s fixed me wheel and it’s ready to go pick up. So, we’re going to go scoot over there now. Hello. Hello. How’s it going? Not too bad. Oh, I need to get you money. Oh, was it 40? Did you say? Yeah. Am I using cash or card, baby? What do you have to pay? 40. Could the bike there no warranty? You your hands been out of that. I don’t know what I’ve hardly been in it at all. Love, just enjoy your hair. Recording this in case you get violent. That’s us. Thank you. There you go. I had to take your bags off. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Fment on, but um not sure where they just strap around then, do they? Yeah. Tim, thanks very much. Perfect. That’s great. Thanks very much. Well, that was painless. Thank you to Tim from YS for doing that. Now, we’re heading over to Skeg. Uh there’s a guy who’s done some body work on our vehicles in the past. So, I’m going to go ask him if he’s capable of doing this motor home’s roof because we have a skylight and it’s just like 60 flicking screws keeping it on to the top of the cab. It’s the big skylight. Anyway, it leaks. It’s double perspects with a crack in the bottom part and when we were on the mountain in Beneva, the drip started coming in again. Off to Benon now. Stevie the body repair guy said no. Too much of a handling. He might look at it next year if he’s got less on. But he had a car there. It’s been looking at for over a year. So, when you live in a motor home, you really can’t leave your motor home with a guy for a year to get round to doing your roof. So, I’m just going to seal it up again this year. More tape around the edges. Hopefully stop the leaks. So, anyway, as I was saying, off to Benon. Pile of people up there are going to be doing some sort of swimming and log fire sort of crack. Benon Beach, very safe, very quiet at night. you are risking it because it’s a beach and there’s an ocean and depending on the moon cycle that tide can come really far in. So, as I said, it’s a risk. We typically stay at the edge of the main concrete path. So, if anything does happen, we don’t have far to go for safety to get us out of that situation. We like it. Um, the only issue that we used to have on it was no signal. And I’m going to keep hopping on about it cuz Starlink has really helped us out. Unfortunately for me, there are no affiliate links for Starlink in the UK. So anyway, when we get there, come back to us then. I
