Had a cheap walmart mongoose when I was a kid like everyone else but never actualy got into BMX at the time regrettably, got into skating instead – still doing that almost daily. Decided to randomly buy a BMX a few weeks ago and found this guy for $100 on marketplace, seems like parts all or mostly Odyssey. Guy had like 20+ other bikes and just didn’t want to mess with it anymore. Good find or nah? Not wanting the frame to break on me if that’s a possibility at 6’2 ~185 (I do look kinda ridiculously tall on it ngl, it’s a 20 inch). Better than nothing for the brand new pump track in my town, just wanted to get some time on it before winter gets here and this seemed like not a bad option.

Sorry I know people post this shit all the time in this sub not knowing wtf they have, my bad. Thanks in advance.

  1. Treat it as Baby’s First BMX. If you end up sticking with it you’re getting a new one anyway. So IMO it’s better to find out on the cheap, because like any hobby, shit gets expensive real fast.

That’s a great bike for what you need. Run it as is and just replace anything that breaks. You can keep the expensive bits like the frame and wheels going through all sorts.
