In this video, we take our Too Much Carbs Cycling Club members on a ride to Southend-on-Sea! 🚴‍♂️🌊 I’ve done this route before, so I thought it would be the perfect adventure to share with the club. What makes it even more exciting is that this will be the longest ride yet for some of our members — a big milestone worth celebrating.

Along the way, I’ll also be showing you the newest gadget I’ve been using recently: the BoB and Brad Q2 Pro Massage Gun, perfect for recovery after long rides like this.

If you’re looking for club ride inspiration, long-distance cycling routes from London, or recovery tools for cyclists, this one’s for you!

[Music] Why should you join a cycling club? Well, there’s plenty of reasons. First, you become part of a community, a group of like-minded people who shares the same passion as you. And depending on the club, you get to explore new places, push yourselves on a ride, and make a whole new set of friends along the way. And that is exactly why we started our club, Too Much Cops, also known as TMC. And today, we’re taking our members on a century ride all the way to South and back. [Music] Hey guys, welcome back. So, it is the day before the ride and I’m actually quite excited for this one because this will be TMC’s. So, that’s a cycling club that me and my friends started. TMC stands for too much carbs and this will be the first longest ride that we’ll do with a lot of the guys who join us. And this will also be the longest ride for a lot of the guys that join us. So, it is quite exciting. Um, if you’ve been watching my videos for a while, you do know that you’d know that I do a lot of long rides. Like I think every weekend I do a century. But for a lot of these guys, they haven’t done one just yet. So, it’s very exciting to get people in the group to sort of do it and push themselves to do it. So, the route is going to be from London to Sapni and back. It is only 95 mi the whole route, but um, you know, if you include getting there and going back home, a lot of people will be basically doing a sentry, which is quite exciting. So, very excited to get this ride started. But before we do that, I want to talk about this product that I got sent recently, which I think is quite cool. Um, it’s a massage gun. So, obviously, massage guns aren’t new. Um, but this one has a cool feature. It has a head that does the cold and um um cold and warm sort of therapy, which is quite cool. So, I’m going to talk more about this at the end. Um, I’ve been using it for a while now, and it’s actually really good. So, I use it like before and after my eyes, but I’ll talk about it more at the end. And yeah, let’s get the start the ride started. What’s wrong, Christian? No route. No route. So, we’re going to drop him. Yeah, I’m a joker. I’m joking. Pass group. Jason. Have fun. Okay, so group one’s gone. Jason’s gone. Uh, group two is going to leave in a bit. Uh, did you bring stuff with you, Christian? Food and stuff. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Yeah. So, it’s going to be a long ride and I think it’ll be a lot of people’s longest ride today. So, yeah. Let’s go meet up with everyone. He He’s come with the mountain bike. That’ll be good. 100 miles, bro. 100 miles. I land on toss is going to be fine. Yeah. Well, we’re not going to Essex. We’re going further. Exactly. Exactly. Well, you’ve got a bag, so you won’t be uh you won’t be bonking, so that should be good. So, group two is on the way and it will be a lot of people’s longest rides. Be Patrick’s longest ride. Yeah, should be good. So, yeah. I am quite excited about this ride because this will be the club’s longest ride yet with everyone and it’ll be a lot of people’s long ride. So, it should be a fun ride. I’ve said ride a lot of times. First group, they’re just going to tap. Yeah, that first group with Jason, Jason, those two the brothers. Yeah, the two brothers and Louis as well. Yeah, that first group was going to be mad. But yeah, our group is more chill. We’ve got a guy with a mountain bike. Like last time we did the Boxhill route, we had a guy with a Brmpton. It’s quite a fun ride. And this should be the longest one as well. [Music] So, we’ve lost Eugene and Christian because Christian’s cleats broke. So, he has to go to a shop. But, there’s a few of us continuing on. And hopefully, we’ll meet them in something late later on. [Music] So, 17 mi in which I don’t think we’re out. I think we just made it outside of London. We’ve been saying we’ve been out for ages, but I think we are finally out now. Yeah, I think we’re finally out. 18 miles in, bro. That was mad. That was mad. So much traffic today. [Music] I just want to be close to you. [Music] Oh, so good to be in the country. [Music] So, yeah, 25 miles in now. Country roads are starting to be nice because there’s no more traffic. The way out was painful, man. It was so painful. So, we’ve had a quick break just there. Um and then now we’re continuing on. Should be South End on Sea. Uh next, we’re about 25 miles away. [Music] 30 mi in there’ll be a sort of decent climb that you’ll be doing and then there’s one more steep one after before on sea. This one peaks about 10 to about 10 or 11%. Oh god. You all right, Eugene? Yeah, nearly at the end. Nice views, but my god, we’ve made it. Me and Eugene at the end. Oh gosh, that was quite steep that one. Forgotten how steep that was. That was That was tough. You attacked that one. You guys went past too early. Yeah, went too early. I look back at like, well, he’s clearly early and I look back again after Yeah. like midway point. It’s like 10%. Play [Music] everything. [Music] 40 miles in and we’re here now. See you there. Or is it just me? Do I need a chill? But you bringing the heat. Hell no. She know I feel good good tonight [Music] talk to make it right. [Music] So we’ve managed to catch up with group one. So it wasn’t too bad, right? Huh? I guess we stayed there for like a for some time though. Yeah. Yeah. So after this got another 50 mi and it’s the way back. So everyone’s uh carbing up. So it’ll be these guys longest ride. It should be good. We’re going to see their straa longest ride. We’ll see. We’ll see. Yeah. Yeah. Um, but yeah, after this we’re going to skip South Finland on Sea cuz apparently there’s a lot of people there. And then just make our way back to London, which is going to be Rolling Hills, guys. That one’s going to hurt. So, make sure you eat carb up now. It’s quite a high tide, isn’t it? Quite cold. It is quite cold. Yeah. [Music] feels like. So, our way home is a bit different. Um, we kind of took a different uh we kind of took a shortcut leaving uh Leo C. So, we’re sort of diverted a little bit, but should be back on route soon. Oh, left. Actually, this diversion seems a lot nicer than the original way. So, I’m going to have to put this in onto the like you [Music] don’t need to see each other. Look at these lanes. So nice. [Music] Made it back. My heart is bitten for you. Waiting on it. [Music] I don’t know what to expect. Group one, Jason, how was it? It was great. You lot went fast. You lot went fast. Group two, how you feeling, Eugene? Yeah, I’m back. But yeah. Patrick, how you feeling? How you feeling? I’m good. I’m just hungry. Yeah, we all bonked at the end. Really? Yeah, we were all just dying at the end. Cuz we didn’t really eat much. We had like a quick break and then continued on. But we just died. So, we are done. I think the Skinner brothers, they they bonked hard cuz we ended up dropping them at the end. It was great. The two brothers. Brothers. Yeah. Cuz they were surging so much up their hills and I was like, “Yo, just do it. Just don’t do that. Chill.” Well, next time they should spin it up. Harry, don’t. Harry Ollie, we’re watching you. All right, Jason. Peace. All right, guys. So, yeah, that is it for today. Um, at home now, just relaxing. Was using the massage gun just to sort of release some sort of tension in the legs cuz it was really windy when we did that ride. So, and I was sort of just pulling my group to help him out. Um, but yeah, it was a fun ride overall. Uh, Christian Eugene’s group didn’t manage to finish it just because Christian had the uh um issue with his cleat, so he had to go to the shop and things like that. And yeah, you guys might have seen that there’s a guy with a mountain bike who joined the ride. And you know, that’s what the club is about. It’s just it doesn’t matter what bike you have. You know, as long as you you you enjoy going out, you’re more than welcome to go. I mean, we have another guy with a Brmpton who joins us and he’s actually very strong on the climbs. If you saw my um was it the which video was it? The Boxill crazy one. He actually did that and he was like top three in the climbs. So, it was crazy. But yeah, if you do want to join a club um you’re more than welcome to join us. Uh we do have a straa club called Too Much Carbs on. So, just join that. We post it all the information there every Wednesday. It’s the sort of Richmond Park after work ride. I mean, it’s still sort of good weather, so we’re going to still continue it a bit more until it gets really crappy during the winter time. Then we obviously have to see how good the weather is. Um, and then on weekends, we tend to do like quite a long one out. I usually plan out all the roots for for the group. It’ll be sort of roots that I’ve done in the past or a new one that I do completely. And uh we end up doing that and the root will never be the same cuz I just like making new roots in general. But yeah, guys, that is it for today. Um, also this um massage gun. Yeah. So, I’ve been using this for a while and this is actually really good. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed it. Uh, it’s very compact. So, this is actually the Bob and Brad Q2 Pro. Um, it is very compact. So, whenever I go to Daphne, I always bring it with me as well. And the one that I really like the most is, well, the two um sort of accessories that I use the most with it is this one, which just for me personally gets like it really like gets into the muscle, which I really like. And this one. So, this is the one that I’ve never seen massage other massage guns. They might have it. I don’t know. But this is the first time that I’m seeing it. And this does the heat and cold therapy, which is really cool. So, I use this a lot pre and post sort of ride just sort of warm my legs up and cool it down as well. So, this is really cool. Now, if you want more information on this, I’m going to put it in the description so you can um have a look and stuff like that. But, yeah, the case is very compact. It comes in this little case. You can put in a backpack or whatever. And they’ve got different other sort of attachments to it. So they’ve got flat one, you got the rounded one, and this really pointy one as well. So, and obviously the other the two that I just showed you, which is next to me. But yeah, guys, that is it for today. I’m going to be using this a bit more because my legs are actually hurting because yeah, the headwind was crazy that day. But yeah, see you guys in the next one. Peace.

Share.

  1. Nice run out Avo! It was good to see a young lad with you at the cafe you never see young guns out near me it’s always the grey beard crowd ..👌🚴‍♂️👍🎥⭐️🥇

  2. I've only been on one TMC ride. Hopefully I'll be able to do more. For me it's a group of people who like bikes, but don't obses about them. TMC members look like that kind of people.
