A local cyclist who represented Gibraltar in the Commonwealth Games and Island Games has died in a traffic accident in France.
27 year old Sam O’Shea was cycling in France when the accident occurred.
The Gibraltar Cycling Association says Sam was an incredible teammate and a true friend, whose energy and kindness touched everyone around him.
Mark Lett of the Gibraltar Cycling Team spoke to GBC.
We have today received the most unfortunate news where we are completely heartbroken at the loss of our dear friend and teammate Sam O’Shea who tragically passed away in France while supporting his girlfriend at the T100. Sam was not only a brilliant teammate but also a true friend whose energy and kindness touched us all. He will he will be deeply missed and our thoughts and love are with his family, his girlfriends and everyone who knew him. May he rest in peace.
