  1. I love how French towns that are along or near the border with a neighboring country often look very much like the neighboring country. To me, Menton looks a lot like towns some towns in Liguria Italy on the other side of the border. Same thing I found in Savoie/French Alps where some towns look Swiss, Alsace where they look German, French Flanders where they look Flemish/Belgian, and the French Basque Country where some towns in Navarra Spain have similar-looking rural houses. Even some towns in Normandy and Brittany have a bit of a British Isles look and feel. It's something in the architecture (materials, roof shapes, colors, etc.) and even the general layout of the town.

  2. Menton has a chequered history and once belonged to Monaco and Genoa, which explains the typical Italian architecture. Finally, in 1860, it was annexed to France and, apart from Italian occupation 1940-1943, has remained so ever since. If you wish to visit the lemon festival, wrap up warm because the temperature can sink to 2 C in the evenings. In summer, the beaches are very crowded, parking is difficult. In 2004, the first tiger mosquitoes in France were discovered in Menton. They´re the ones that bite all day long. For these reasons, I sold my home there and bought one in Tenerife for half the square metre price. 🙂

  3. Sonia: you have an excellent cameraman. Always perfect pictures!! Great colors!! He is the Best videographer!! And you are beautiful!! And you narrate well.👍♥️

  4. Living the French coastal life in Menton looks so relaxing and beautiful! The Old Town and local market really capture the charm and pace of the city. Which part of Menton do you think best shows its authentic, everyday life?
