
soo…. to give you guys a little backround: I ve been riding for quite a while now and also relative comfortable with backflips and frontflips. This was actually going to be a backflip try but during the take-off I felt that my shock was just like gone which then caused me to go far more back than I wanted and it ended up with me touching my tire and getting bucked. I am extremely happy to „roll“ away from this without any broken bones but am having quite a hard time now getting back on the bike and regaining my confidence. Something inside me keeps blaiming myself for this altough I know it was mainly my shocks fault. Just wanted to See if guys know what to do in my Situation

This was what my shock looked like afterwards with me riding 290psi with a maximum of 300psi and no volume spacers. I believe that something like this should never happen, eventhough I pushend it quite far

Damn you’re commited. I’m assuming you were trying to save it by doing a front roll. If it was me I probably would’ve let my bike go and embrace for the impact.
I’ve had several nasty fall from other sports and it’s hard to get over the ptsd. One little steps at a time and it would usually take me 1-2 months to overcome and regain to my previous level. I remember after my first injury and riding it the first time post injury that I was in tears because of how scared I was and the ptsd it brought back. Just hang in there and take baby steps at a time.

Wait, so you planned to do a back flip, and then changed it on take off for a front? Oh noooo. That was never going to work being so late on takeoff. Or was the front you trying to bail?
I know you know this, but never change your plan on the transition. Did you do your equipment checks that day? I’ve had some pretty bad accidents due to equipment failure, and more than once I didn’t do my due diligence checking my gear. How many times did you hit that kicker during the session up until that point? Did your bike feel off prior to that hit?
(Fwiw I coach skiing/snowboarding but jumping principles still apply).

I think you should work out your strategy for not having this happen again.
So preventative maintenance , thinking what your exit on a jump go wrong is and perhaps better body armour.
I do that with everything risky i do. Whats my exit , whats my cover.
