Yeah it’s pretty worn out because somebody hasn’t replaced the chain in a loooong time. But if a new (!) chain runs OK and shifts OK and doesn’t chainsuck (when the chain doesn’t cleanly come off the chainring at the bottom but gets pulled up) then there’s no need to replace the chainring.
The cassette on the rear hub that’s been running with this chain is of course completely ruined and must be replaced as well.
Ah I see, you’re thinking about buying this bike. Seller doesn’t seem to be concerned with maintenance, which might have degraded the overall quality.

Yes but the entire crankset is like $60 and replacing a complete “hollowtech” crankset is one of the easiest maintenance things I’ve ever done (and I’m not very competent). That chain will likely need to be replaced too though, and maybe the cassette
