I'm pretty unfamiliar with cycling, just wanting to get into some city and maybe light cross country riding. I know it's a Gary Fisher, but beyond that I'm at a loss. Wondering if it looks stock/upgraded at all, and what it would be best suited for… TIA!

All I can add is that the grey lever on the rear deraileur needs to be flipped up. It’s the clutch and will help negate lots of bouncing of the chain
Resto-mod of a Gary Fisher Bitter, from around ’07. I think the only stock thing is the frame.
