The Welsh Dragon HST departs with a big two-tone from Exeter St Davids! – Departure –

Now I don’t know how many HST sets I will get to capture during the Plymouth trip, as they aren’t exactly abundant to say the least. That being said I did saw three by now, although I was only able to capture one of the three… Now I would be happy if I at least got to capture 10 of the GWR Castle Sets, but we’ll see!

Now the one that I díd capture, wasn’t just any HST! You might even say I was quite lucky to come by this specific specimen as it was the special Welsh Dragon edition, honouring Geraint Thomas for winning the Tour de France back in 2018! Not only that, but since the platform was crowded with spotters to capture the departing service, we all got a hefty and big two-tone from GWR’s driver! Startled me a little bit, as you can see, but that’s also because I was recording with one hand, protecting myself from the rain with an umbrella in the other!
