In May 2025, we departed from Faro, hoping to bikepack all the way to Porto.
Reality hit us in the form of headwinds — and after 6 intense days and 349 km, we made it to Lisbon… barely.
Now we finaly understand why everyone rides south.
We didn’t.
Our route followed Ecovia and EuroVelo 1, hugging Portugal’s stunning coastline.

I did the same route two years ago, but in reverse. It was much better because we didn't encounter any headwinds. We did it in four days from Setúbal to Lagos.
