We made it from NL to Korea with 2 bikes. This is our first time flying with bikes.
One of our bike boxes took a hit and was ripped open at the top right. Good thing we ziptied everything together as one unit so nothing fell out. The helmet inside was completely broken. It is a very high quality helmet so I wonder how much of a force it was for the helmet to be brutally defeated like this. Would the bike have survived such force??
So my question is if you don't pack your helmet inside the bike box, how much paddings do you use to protect your bike?

  1. Im far from an expert but I think helmets are designed to break to reduce impact, while a bike is probably much sturdier
