Bikepacking through Slovenia and Croatia

That was a wild ride: beautiful nature, meeting amazing people, exploring picturesque historic towns, and even stumbling into a festival on Pag Island lol

While I wholeheartedly recommend Slovenia for bikepacking, I didn’t really enjoy the biking and sleeping part in Croatia. When I was there it wasn’t even peak season yet (June), but the coastal roads were already extremely busy and pretty scary… so many big buses, campers, and trucks. Finding a quiet wild camping spot was also a pain in the *** without investing hours into a detour, so I often ended up at campgrounds, which I wanted to avoid. If I went again, I wouldn’t cycle the coastal roads, but then you miss out on a lot… 🙁

Still, I had a ton of fun on the journey and I’m grateful for the experience 🙂
