Just bought this used 2019 Giant Escape 2 Disc. Took it for the first ride and rear derailleur snapped off while shifting gear from 3 to 2. 🙁

Time for an upgrade at the local bike shop

Yeah it can be fixed
Smart money puts a Deore derailleur on there
It looks like the hanger broke. Wheels Manufacturing is your friend in these situations.
But the shifting experience with Deore is superior. And they’re inexpensive.
