    Welcome to Serbia – Border Chaos & First Steps on the Serbian TET (S2/Ep19-part1)



    After riding together with Doriand (@DRP-ADVENTURE ) in Montenegro, we set off towards the Albanian border where our paths split – he stayed in Albania while I continued my solo journey back into Montenegro, heading north towards Serbia.

    The day was full of contrasts: from the ACT tracks of Albania and Montenegro (which in this section were entirely on tarmac) to the hectic border crossing into Serbia. The chaos at the border was something else – long lines of trucks, impatient drivers, and me weaving my way through to avoid waiting for hours. Definitely one of the wildest border experiences I’ve had on this trip!

    Finally, after making it into Serbia, I reached the starting point of the Serbian Trans Euro Trail (TET). By then it was already late afternoon, but I couldn’t resist riding at least the first stretch. The trail quickly revealed its character: soft clay, muddy puddles, grassy paths – a perfect mix of terrain to welcome me into the next chapter of this adventure.

    But just when I thought I was on track, my GPS led me off the main TET into thick forest. Following the route deeper and deeper, I ended up on a small hidden clearing… with no way forward. And that’s where this part of the story ends.

      Wel, it seems that there is no shortage on tracks in Serbia, and are beautiful to explore. 😍
      Funny how that dog retreated when you "barked" back by rev up the engine. 😅
      I was wondering why not using the drone to look around from the air when lost?

      Hiya loving the latest episode I much prefer it when you’re riding alone it’s a lot more personal, I was having the same problem as you following the GPX until I went in to the setting which allowed me to zoom in a bit more, make the track line wider and make the direction arrow smaller I am using the OsmAnd app

      I am glad to see that the Albanians have progressed, from keeping sheep to keeping goats. In Serbia, don't have breakfast under construction scaffolding, the doctors are very bad.

      Also, finally! You are on a part of the track that I would enjoy 😉 with no cliffs or drops to your death on one side. You can enjoy the journey at your own pace again now too.
