Are these good bikes for weekend paved trail rides?

I would strongly suggest that you don’t buy a “bike” from Amazon. If you don’t want to spend much, look second hand. If you want a new bike, probably the cheapest options right now are in the Trek sale around 400. But you can get professional assembly and a follow up service included, which is absolutely not the case with amazon. Seems to be stock left of these two in your size:
