  1. It’s an old bike, but it might teach you some bike mechanical skills! (You will probably have to replace some cables, chain, and tires)

    It really depends. It is a vintage steel bike. If you live in a rather flat area, it could be ok, otherwise get something with a more modern drivetrain, this will absolutely kill the mood for beginners on climbs. It’s more forgiving than an aluminum or carbon bike, so ride is somewhat smoother. Another thing to consider is the shifters, if you can get used to them its fine, otherwise consider something more modern.
