I’ve been riding my Intro7 Monroe for about three years now, and it’s had almost the same setup since the very beginning. The frame’s Columbus Cromor steel, originally black, but I had it sandblasted and resprayed in a soft baby blue. The colour really makes the classic lines pop.
Shimano Dura-Ace FC-7600 cranks, Hatta bottom bracket, H+Son Plus rims laced to Miche track hubs. The handlebars are the Nitto 0-degree sweepback low-rise, 50 cm wide, completely straight with no sweepback. Up front, there’s a Ridea brake that I literally never use. Legally required, sure, but in practice, I never touch it.
Small detail: the advertised seatpost size was 26 mm, but 26.2 mm fits this frame much better.
This bike is my daily commuter, and honestly, it’s been perfect for that. Columbus steel gives it a springy and responsive ride that makes my daily commutes a pleasure.
I’d love to hear from anyone else riding an Intro7 or other Columbus steel track bikes.
