Hello all,
Recently I joined the fold and among other things I am very fond of the integrated accessories like the Brompton Bell and Be Seen lights, both of which are mounted to my brake levers.
As I bought a 4-speed P Line I had one designated spot (out of the four available ones) open on my right hand Brompton brake lever, where the hub shifter otherwise resides.
I scoured the internet trying to find another utility accessory for this open spot but hardly any seem to exist. I could only find a screw on Kiley light or a Magicshine remote for front and rear lights, both of which are of no use to me as I have other lighting solutions. A shame if you ask me 🙂
But yesterday I got my hands on a second-hand Beeline Velo 2 and it fits absolutely perfectly on this spot. I managed to set it up with the universal mount that came with it, with some minor homemade tweaks of the base (replacing the removable curved yellow rubber with some furniture feet pads of different sizes to accommodate the uneven surface for getting the position right) and adjusting the lever position slightly more vertically just so I can see enough information on the screen while in this position when riding.
The Beeline looks like it is made for this spot and I see more than enough information on it for my occasional viewing of it, as I will use it primarily to track my rides rather than for navigation or other, aside from an occasional glance.
Being able to control the Beeline with my thumb while my hand is on the handlebar is a really nice feature. I am loving it on this morning ride!
Extra:
Now, should anyone here be a Brompton 3D printer enthusiast that has an inexplicable urge to take on the challenge of creating a Beeline mount (or Garmin with replaceable inserts) for this spot using the threaded holes on the shifter, that would be even more sweet. Perhaps I might venture into it myself, providing I can find the time for a steep learning curve.
Some pictures for reference.
Have a nice Brompton weekend everyone!

Just get a crossbar , beeline has niche appeal and the position its in isn’t practical IMO. Less tech more riding
I was just working on a 3D printed brake lever attachment part, but I’m still trying to figure out what would be the most useful or cool thing to attach: https://imgur.com/a/WoigUAy
