Downloaded the gpx file for the Royal Chilterns Way (UK) last week and loaded into cycle.travel app.

(Great journey, highly recommend)

It was mostly fine, but occasionally came to a dead end and I had to backtrack uphill over difficult terrain, which was pretty annoying.

I questioned this with the cyclinguk website and they said they had checked it and found no such errors and that different programs/apps can interpret the file differently.

Is this normal? Do you all check every inch of a gpx file once loaded into your chosen application?

Sorry I'm not the best photographer. Also battery was low since my powerpacks 'disappeared'. Pic with bike is from Day 3 when my bro took my kit home separately and I was able to have some proper fun on the trails.

I’m a huge fan of cycle.travel for route planning. I think it is by far the best for UX and it’s routing algorithm, but for a long route I do still check that it is accurate, or that there aren’t better options in complex and built up areas.
