Day 4 of our 810 mile ride from the English Channel at Caen (La Manche) to Toulon on the Mediterranean Sea in summer 2025. Day 4 takes us through the steep numerous valleys of the Correze for our biggest day of climbing in the whole trip at around 8,000ft (|2,500m) of elevation, made tough due to the extreme heat in mid-France this year. Starting in Bessines-en-Gartemp and finishing on top of a high point at Aubazine after 92 miles (148km). Absolutely stunning once again with a reward of lots of amazing switchbacky descents down beautiful quiet river valley roads. Day 5 takes us further into the edge of the Massif Central, crossing the river Dordogne and hugging the meanders of the river Lot to Conques.
