Day 23 of The Long Ride to Byzantium
SLOVAKIA ➡️ MARIANOSZTRA, HUNGARY (92 km)
After a horrible sleepless night in the tent under endless rain, I finally got lucky: smooth tailwinds carried me across the border into Hungary.
Passed through Esztergom, where Hungary’s largest church towers over the Danube, and ended the day in a lovely pension — completely alone, with a piano to play. The best start possible for the Hungarian part of this journey.
