I finally converted my GF's 96 Team Issue to 2×9 last night. Until now, it was a simple 1×9 setup with a narrow wide chainring because setting up a double was too much headache for me. Turns out, it was dead easy with the parts I already had on hand: the original XT M737 triple crank with the big chainring moved to the middle plus the small chainring. Original M737 front derailleur, but with the cable not run in the groove but clamped on the rear side of the bolt.

Brifters are Sensah Ignite 2×9 for €45 on Ali.

I'll go for a closer range rear cassette next but the setup seems to work perfectly so far.

    Good work. Looks great.

Should be able to clim walls with that small ring 🙂

    Fork is new, right?

How do you like those brifters? I’ve been curious about the 8, 9, and 10sp Sensah.
