Hi all,
I'm looking to get a road bicycle for some casual rides while there's still time this season. I was mostly looking at vintage road bikes (like some 80s Bianchi/Peugeot, etc), but unfortunately I need a smaller frame (probably 48-49cm), as I'm on a shorter side myself (5'3"), and I haven't seen too many of those over a couple of months of looking around. However, I see some more modern road bikes come up, like this Scott Speedster S40 (found this link for the same, I think, model).
I haven't seen it in person, but it appears to be in a good condition. The price seems to be firm, too. I'm thinking of perhaps taking a look at it, but I wanted to ask here to see if you think it's worth $349, or if I should look for something else. Thanks!!
Here is a craigslist link for it: https://westernmass.craigslist.org/bik/d/north-adams-new-scott-aluminum-and/7870234879.html

With sizes on the smaller or larger end of the scale, there’s a supply/demand question where sellers might be able to charge more because there’s less of them around, but on the flip side they’ll have less potential buyers too. The ad has been up for 28 days and the seller is grossly misrepresenting the size range to try to attract more buyers. Generally this would be a 200-300 bike. If you haven’t found anything else I maybe wouldn’t be too put out at 350, but it’s not exactly a steal or anything.
Bear in mind that this will have pretty skinny tyre clearances, so 25c, maybe 28c if you’re lucky. But really best for paved or otherwise flat surfaces.
