Recently snagged this old 20” beauty for 110 Canadian doubloons from a guy that had grabbed it from an estate sale held by an old Trappist farm/monastery that had closed down. It had a monster 130mm quill stem and every piece of rubber was dried and cracked but the minute I saw those lugs, it was on.
I cleaned it up and with some of the original components (frame/fork, cranks, seatpost, wheels, brakes) swapped in parts bin goodies and some fresh tires, drivetrain parts, grips, pedal and stem/bars. Its now the funnest goofiest klunker, my morning ride to work absolutely slaps, and I try to channel the vibes of an old monk peeling through the potato fields. Old bikes fo’ life.
