Would appreciate some feedback on how these two bikes fit me. The first is a 2023 Stumpjumper S5. I’m 6’1 and in between an S4 and S5 based on Specialized’s chart. The second photo is on a 2020 Giant Trance 29 size Large.
Also 6’1 and also between sizes. I ended up on an S5 Evo. I ride mostly tech and it’s a blast and real stable at higher speeds but sometimes wonder if an S4 would have been the move for the playfulness. I guess it depends on what you plan on riding. This probably doesn’t help at all.

The lines you drew don’t help at all. You could go for either. It’s going to come down to personal preference. I would rather downsize, personally

Both look good to me. I’m 6’0 and ride the Stumpjumper in S4. However I have a very short upper body for my size. S5 would still work for me though. Since your proportions look quite regular and you are a little bit taller, I definitely recommend S5 to you.

I just bought a 2022 Trance so I can offer a little advice. I’m 6”2’ and ended up getting an XL frame and love it. I’ve put about 30 trail miles on it and it feels great, nice and stable. If you can find an XL to try, I would encourage you to try it to see how it feels.

You could try using the RAD method for sizing a bike
