Hey, I’m looking for a simple enough bike for daily riding around. Occasional commute, I’m not too fussy.

Looking at FB and I found three options that seem in my size and my price range. Was trying to figure out if one of them is a way better value than the others.

I assume the motobecane is going to be in a different performance category, but I think it’s a fair tradeoff overall for the classic vibe of the others. So just wanted to see if the value is way different between the three assuming I can get each for $150.

Thanks.

  1. Motobecane is best, more modern, uses brifters. Stronger dual-pivot brake levers, has mounting points for a rear rack, snd has much wider gears which will be nice on steep hills.

The Miyata is next best, approximately 1986. A well-built midlevel chromoly steel bike. The shifter cable near the rear derailleur appears to be damaged, but that should be an easy fix at a shop.

The Bianchi is not worth $150, it’s pretty low-end. It is from around the same time period as the Miyata, mid eighties, but uses lower-end parts, and is probably made of heavier high-tensile steel. It is a clear loser versus the Miyata.

BTW the Bianchi is huge, for someone who’s well over 6′ (6’4″+, maybe?). The other two would probably be appropriate for someone around 5’10”-6’2″
