For context I own a Trek Supercommuter 8s. It has 24,163 miles on it atm. In a one year span I have rode it exactly 7621 miles (It had 16542 miles) and have spent $987 plus the $966 I'm spending for current repairs which is equal to $1953. I drive a 2014 Acura ILX. I drove it 15535 miles (72,682 miles to 88217 miles atm) I spent $1610 on maintenance ( 1 starter, 3 oil changes and 4 new tires). Is maintenance suppose to be this expensive. I only take my bike to Trek for service after getting scammed by a local bike shop.

it doesnt seem out of the ordinary. They do upcharge a bit on parts. Which would be a lot cheaper to buy online. But because you ride it so much a lot needs to be replaced.

A lot of it you could easily do yourself. Like changing tires and brake pads. Would save a quite a lot of money. And would be a good opportunity to mount some better tires than bontragers too.

Trek Rail owner here and the same! More on a bike than a car. I love riding my bike, I love owning a Trek but sheesh!
