Tiny bit of dry lube couldn’t hurt. Don’t use too much or it will get gummed up over time

You definitely can but I’d recommend upgrading to ultegra jockey wheels. They’re very cheap and have bearings instead of bushings which will last longer and run nicer.

Yes you should. Nice work done there cleaning them!

You don’t need to.
You can, but really you don’t need to. The bushings are made from PTFE (aka Teflon) and come without lube from the factory. The Shimano Service Manual doesn’t say you need to lubricate them either. Plenty of people do but I don’t see why one would want to. These wheels experience barely any load.

I usually put a drop of Boeshield T-9 inside the metal bushing (where it interfaces with bolt).

It’s not really necessary, but a few drops of light oil will suffice.

just a light smear of grease on the bushing and you are good to go

I dunno why you’d do 105 of them when you only need 2…. But seriously folks those bushings don’t need lube. If you put anything on them make sure it’s dry and not petroleum based! I wouldn’t use anything harsher than wax

I can’t believe 105 isn’t using ball bearings. Anyway, I pack grease under the metal covers to keep water out of the bearings. If it gets rusty and dirty, there can be a lot of friction.

Those thin covers can rust. A thin coat of grease on those and the screw is a good idea.
