I'd like to sell an old Raleigh racing bike from the 1980s that is just collecting dust in my basement. To my untrained eyes, it looks to be in great condition Does anyone have a good sense for what this should fetch? I'd rather put it on Craiglist than Ebay, so I just need to know what a fair price is. Thanks for any help!

  1. Mid 80s Raleigh Gran Prix. Good thing is people like these frames and recognize them. As is $150 would be fair return. You can do some better cosmetic presentation and photos to get as much as 250 though if the condition turns out to be actually good. It’ll never be a huge collector price since it does have normal wear, the wheels are mismatched, and it needs a premium drivetrain for the big prices. Remove the rear rack, mirror, and whatever that is clamped on the seat tube. Clean bike well including trying to get the stains out of the brake hoods, maybe fresh bar tape. Your photos need to be of the other side of the bike, the “drive side” so the derailleurs and cranks are visually presented well. Pump up the tires and measure the frame size to put that information in the ad.
