Here’s my 95’ Kona Fire Mountain(14”) resto-mod partially complete. Currently it’s a functional bike with a Shimano LX rear derailleur(1×8) 11-32 cassette. Following upgrades as follows:
-Deore crankset, 30T
-Deore V-brake set
-Tange Seike threaded headset(sealed bearings
-Thomson stem
-Chester pedals
-14’ Kona Unit handle bars
Parts on order:
-Thomson Elite seat post clamp
-DMR OiOi saddle
-11-34 Shimano 8 SPD cassette
Someday I want to order:
-tubeless wheel set(recommendations welcome)
This bike is awesome. It’s super light and would like to find ways to lighten it. I want to put carbon handle bars with a higher rise but not sure yet on what to use(recommendations welcome too). 95-96’ Kona’s were the best IMO.
