I am planning on riding the exact Valhalla Beach party route from bikepacking.com in a few weeks (mid-September). I have not seen any discussion of the route on this page. In addition to my few questions, I am interested in tips/ insights from folks who have already rode it.
I don't mind hike-a-biking a bit (molokos are very underrated in this regard, allow for a much more comfortable position), but some of the comments on the route page make it seem like I will be miserable on my 2.25" tubeless Mezcals. Has anyone ridden it on similar width tires and been happy with it?
I plan on starting/ending at Valhalla Rec Area, doing the route as an overnighter, camping in/near Port Wing. I am undecided on doing it clockwise or counter-clock. Does anyone who has done it have an opinion on the matter?
Thank you very much! Pictured is my rig at the beginning of last voyage, more of a tour than a bikepack. Got a ride to Lambeau, went from there up to Washington Island, then down to MKE and back home to Madison area. I typically don't enjoy Door County as a vacation destination but found it spectacular for velotourism. Quiet roads, beautiful scenery! Plan to run roughly the same rig for upcoming trip, but very open suggestions.

I got my picture at that same location. Not with my bike however.
Cool route. I might need to try it someday. I’ll likely bring my Fat Tire bike
