Hey guys, basically a few months ago my old bike (a [pitch sport 650b](https://www.specialized.com/ru/en/pitch-sport-650b/p/65472?color=172521-65472&searchText=95515-6303)) was stolen, which was partly my fault. I used my bike for anything and everything I needed for the past 6 years, from small errands to hanging out with friends to long 40/50 mile all day trips.
As for the new bike I think some important things for me would be having it be a mountain bike due to their flexibility in terms of what type of terrain it can go on. Another important thing would be attachment points for a rack and bottle holder but those seem fairly common. Lastly I think durability is a huge factor because I plan on using this bike for at least the next decade if not more. My budget would have a maximum around $900 but I’m willing to be flexible for quality.
If anyone has any bike recommendations or has anything I should look out for, I would greatly appreciate it! Also if anyone has any tips on keeping a bike safe in a public place I’d love to hear your thoughts. My current plan is to get two kryptonite chain lock and put it across both parts of the frame just to stay on the safe side as I don’t want my bike to be stolen again.
